Curators Adriano Pedrosa and Jens Hoffmann and Istanbul Biennial organizers IKSV have decided not to release all of the names of the artists participating in the 2011 exhibition.
But we will! If we can find out who they are.
BREAKING NEWS - on July 6 the curators took 'a bold first move' when deciding to announce a total of eight artists, all of who happen to be women. They are: Claudia Anduja, Martha Rosler, Dora Maurer, Tina Modotti, Geta Bratescu, Letizia Battaglia, Zarina Hashmi and Teresa Burga.

(if you're in the biennial or know of someone else who is please add relevant names in the comment section)
The exhibition is divided into five group exhibitions named with inspiration from the titles of works by Felix Gonzalez Torres: “Untitled” (Passport), “Untitled” (Ross), “Untitled” (Death by Gun), "Untitled" (Abstraction), and "Untitled" (History).
Additionally, around 45 artists have been lucky enough to receive "solo presentations" in the massive group show.
The list is expected to exceed 100 artists.

*A note about this blog:
Curators Pedrosa and Hoffman said repeatedly at an Art Basel Salon conversation in June 2011 that the biennial artist-list is not a secret. They explained that they declined to release the names in an attempt to circumvent prejudgment of the exhibition.
A majority of the names posted here were found on artists' CVs. Other names have come up in casual conversation.
Please post any additional names in the comments field.
